The Common Greenshank (Tringa nebularia) is a wader in the large family Scolopacidae. They are brown in breeding plumage, and grey-brown in winter.  They also have long greenish legs and a long bill. It is migratory bird and Migrate through Middle East and India.

I found many of these birds mostly in pairs in different parks of Dubai. They are also known as teetar because of their loud sound, which sound like Ka-tee-tar...tee-tar. They are bad flier but good runner. I saw them flying only once for a short distance, when unintentionally I got very close to a small tree where two Grey Francolin were resting.

First I thought it is a sparrow. After a closer look, i realise that It was much bigger than house sparrow and the bill was hooked.  Isabelline Shrike eats insect, small bird and lizard. It has habit of impaling the corpse on barbed wire or thrones.

BROWN HEADED BARBET LARGE GREEN BARBET ( MEGALAIMA ZEYLANICA )

Crested Lark (Galerida cristata) is a species of lark . Contrary to other lark it is having crest of feathers that rise up in territorial displays and when singing.

PURPLE SWAMPHEN (PORPHYRIO PORPHYRIA)

 During my visit to Pallikaranai Marshland I saw many Swamp hens. It is a chicken like bird, with its large feet, bright plumage and red bill.

 I always see many red wattled lapwing near the pond inside my nearby Al Nada Pond Park. I was surprised to see five Black necked stilt along with red wattled lapwing. I noticed that three Black necked stilt was having long pink legs and other two was having yellow legs.

  I saw a lonely gull hovering on Dubai creek. Suddenly it landed to one location and i quickly took few shots of the gull. I did not realize that it was having a fish until I see the pictures in my computer. I had to crop 50% to get these pictures.

It is a small sunbird and feed mainly on nectar. They are very fast and sometime they can hover like hummingbird on flowers for nectar. This particular sunbird was uncommon as it was having many white patches on the black body.
